Final 6162 Blog Assignment

Dear Colleagues,
We have finally reached the finish line of this course. I am very thankful for all of the responses and feedback I received from all of you. I wish everyone good luck on their journey in this program. Once again, thanks for the support!

3 Consequences of learning about the international early childhood field for my professional and personal development:

   1.    I learned so much from listening to the podcasts and visiting websites concerning early childhood education in other countries. I am now more aware of more organizations that are helping young children.
   2.    I have learned that no matter how bad a situation, if you put your mind to doing something great (especially for the benefit of children) you can achieve anything! Several people from the podcasts proved this to me.
   3.    I have learned never to take things for granted. There are people all over the world in situations that are out of their control. We can only continue to hope for change unless we take a big step and start helping.

1 Goal for the field related to international awareness and trends and the spirit of collegial relations:

I would like to actually make contact with some international people and organizations. It was frustrating not to hear back from anyone, but I will continue to try. Maybe I will look into contacting other international professionals. I am glad we were able to find out about the EC field in other countries.

  2. Ashley,
Thanks for sharing your interesting posts and interesting feedback. Lolita is right. The job ahead of us is a huge. Now that we have fully explored the issues in the ECH field we are obligated to collaborate to resolve them beginning in our locale. You are certainly right in saying that "if you put your mind to doing something great (especially for the benefit of children) you can". Just imagine what can happen when we allow our minds to work together.
    All the best Ashley!!

  3. Hi Ashley,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and goals. I have enjoyed learning with you and reading what you have shared; through the in class discussions as well as this blogging stuff. You are quite right in that no matter how bad or challenging a situation appears to be by relying on God's strength my faith I am able to meet the difficulty head on and find a resolution. I know that as I continue to further my education I will find myself more qualified to provide early childhood education and care for the children I am entrusted with. I hope I will be able to be a shining light for those in need. Take care and may God's blessings be with you and your family.

  5. Hello Ashley,
It has been a pleasure to read your opinions and experiences for yet another course. Throughout this course I have truly gained an appreciated for the early childhood field and the rights that we have in the U.S. Many countries are struggling to educate their children and it is good to know that there are international early childhood professionals who are focusing their efforts and resources to improve the lives of children in their countries.

  6. Hi Ashley,
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts this class. You always have strong insights and great views on the assignments in class. I too would love to get in touch with international contacts and perhaps one day travel to these under developed countries and lead their EC programs. Great work and thanks for the comments!

  7. Hi Ashley,
MANY blessings to your future success on this journey. I was not successful at connecting with any of the contacts I tried for this course, I would like to try that again as well. Learning how connections can be made outside of the U.S is a great way to travel without leaving the comforts of your home. Good Luck!
