Dear Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI liked your art that portrayed anti-bias education. I would challenge your menu. On the menu, there would be self-awareness, self-confidence, family pride, positive social identities, expressing comfort and joy with human diversity, accurate language for human differences, caring human connections, recognizing unfairness, having the language to describe unfairness, understanding the unfairness hurts, skills to act against prejudice/discriminatory. (Derman-Sparks & Edwards, 2010)

Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI love the art work that you have here! We must feed our children the right materials to prepare them in this world. There is so much they can learn from at home and if they are not learning enough there, then it is our jobs as educators to further enhance their thinking and education. I do not have any children at the moment, but whenever I decide to have some, I will be sure to teach them at an early age about different bias. I will allow them to communicate with all children and will not put any negative thoughts in their heads about any particular groups. Thanks for sharing your art.
