We shall demonstrate in our behavior and language respect
and appreciation for the unique value and human potential of each child.
This is significant to me because, as educators and professionals, we should know that students look up to us as role models. We need to always display positive behavior, especially in the presence of our students. Some students may not have positive role models, so if we do this, we can make a difference in how that child ends up.
We shall honor and respect the diverse backgrounds of our
colleagues including such diverse characteristics as sexual orientation, race,
national origin, religious beliefs, or other affiliations.
This is significant to me because I believe in equality for all. I respect all people, no matter their race, religious belief, sexual orientation, etc. Because America is considered to be "the melting pot" we, as educators and professionals will always come in contact with people who differ from us, especially in the workplace. No one deserves to be treated badly for being different. As educators, our main focus should be on our students.
To provide the community with high-quality early
childhood care and education programs and services.
This is significant to me because our children do no deserve anything less than high-quality. We need to do our best to be the best at what we do. Education is important! To help set a strong foundation for our children, they need high-quality early childhood care, education programs, and services.
